01Install

Four steps to a working site

No Git, Composer, SSH or zenton.org account. You need hosting with PHP 8.1, a MySQL or MariaDB database and file access over FTP or a file manager.

    Download the ZIP archive

    The latest stable version is behind the button above. No sign-up; you can check the archive against its SHA-256.

  2. 02

    Unpack it into the site root

    Upload the archive contents to the domain root folder (document root) over FTP or your hosting file manager. The runtime/, storage/ and uploads/ folders must be writable.

  3. 03

    Open the site and prove ownership

    Open https://your-site.com — the setup wizard starts. It creates storage/install/setup-key.php and asks for the key inside: this proves the server owner is installing the site.

  4. 04

    Complete the wizard

    Environment check, database, table setup and the administrator account. At the end the site runs on the Free plan and the console is at /console.

The wizard never contacts zenton.org and sends nothing about the site. You can connect the site to Zenton later from the console — if you need to.

02Requirements

System requirements

Requirements come from the signed manifest of Zenton CMS 0.1.6. The setup wizard checks them on your hosting as its first step.

Nothing else is needed to install from the archive: the install wizard is already inside.

03Plan

The free Free plan

Every install from the archive runs on the Free plan right away. A zenton.org account and connecting are optional: the CMS works fully without them.
